ELECTRIC WOMB RAINSONG
Electric Womb recently released the synth/groove single 'The Daily Slog', a song about a town that shouldn't be a town, but something much greater. Now, the duo split between Essex and Liverpool have just released a new album Electric Shroom, which is a long twenty-five-song trip. Sandwiched between the tender piano song 'K.Satie' and the expansive 'Moonlight Beside', 'Rainsong' is an underwater experience. As if being produced from a working factory at the bottom of the ocean, industrial electronic rhythms resonate with an aqueous timbre, synths dart around like small fish, and the deep bass carries the weight of a large whale on its back. Synth pads rise like sunshine glistening on the surface, accompanied by heavy rainfall. 'Rainsong' transports you to another place entirely, but one that's comfortingly familiar. Maybe it's reminiscent of what we hear inside the womb. Be sure to check out 'Rainsong' and the rest of Electric Shroom. -Ellie Rose-Davies
